It is the responsibility of pastors and teachers “to equip God’s people to do his work” (Eph 4:12, NLT), yet many church leaders comprehend neither the prevalence of sexual violence, its effects, nor how to combat it in day-to-day life.    If they themselves do not have the tools to do apply the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the fight against sexual violence, how can they be expected to train God’s people?   We have been called to equip those church leaders, so that they in turn are prepared to equip others.

We offer a free, practical 8-week course to equip church leaders and other Christians to apply God’s Word in the fight against sexual violence.   Covered topics include:

  • What is sexual assault?
  • Warning indicators of possible sexual assault
  • The effects of sexual assault on children and on adults
  • Common characteristics of adult perpetrators
  • Working with underage perpetrators
  • How to respond to someone who shares that they have been sexually assaulted
  • What to do (and not to do) to help someone who has been sexually assaulted
  • How to protect children and adults from sexual assault
  • How to make church buildings safer
  • Necessary church policies and procedures pertaining to sexual assault
  • How to communicate the Gospel clearly in a culture where sexual assault is thought of as normal
