It is the responsibility of pastors and teachers “to equip God’s people to do his work” (Eph 4:12, NLT), yet many church leaders comprehend neither the prevalence of sexual violence, its effects, nor how to combat it in day-to-day life. If they themselves do not have the tools to do apply the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the fight against sexual violence, how can they be expected to train God’s people?   We have been called to equip those church leaders, so that they in turn are prepared to equip others.
